The Gompers GATOR Bulletin 10/28/19

WOWWWWW...GHOULISH GALA.....what a fantastic evening in #GATORNATION
Thank you to all the families who participated there were some reallllllly cool tent ideas, the costumes were creative and family coordinated, the music was great, the maze was "super scary", the kids had fun and most of all #GATORNATION had fun as Gompers K8 family community.
Again, THANK YOU PTA for all of your hard work and for all you do for our school to make it the BEST, you are #PHENOMENAL...you are appreciated and valued!!!!
PS...Many, many more pictures were taken but I tried not to put pictures with "student faces" that were distinguishable because this newsletter is "online" and to protect privacy issues. However, additional fun-filled pictures of the night will be in the yearbook!!!!
Halloween Expectations.....10/31 and the day after Nov. 1!!!!
Students are expected to be in Scholarly Dress. I checked with Ms. Connie and she said we did not do dress up as a school community only the kindergarten with their parade.
Food/Snack Items:
1. If a teacher has indicated a classroom fun celebration, the information would go home to parents. Items associated with the celebration must be given to the student as they come to school. The office will not coordinate the interruption of special delivery "snack/celebration" drop-offs to classrooms.
2. If a student/family chooses to give the class a "goodie bag", please coordinate the numbers needed with the teacher.
3. November 1, please, please, please check your children's backpack to ensure that they do not have the bag fulllllllll of candy being brought to school. Candy "full backpacks" will be confiscated. This is one of those "nightmare days" for teachers, as it is not a lot of sleep for students due to trick or treating and the sugar high from candy consumption.
Shout out to allllll of our GOMPERS VIPS....You are APPRECIATED!!!!!!
There are sooooooo many VIPS who support our school each week. The school and all of its functioning parts are a testament to all of you.
Though I don't know all the names to faces, I do see you:
Reading with students 1:1, helping with small groups in classrooms daily, watering the garden, helping to make activities for the 8th grades graduating class, taking the day off work to attend field trips, donating class items for the teacher's special projects all of these pieces are supportive, appreciated and valued.
