Visiting the school
We welcome all families to our school and ask as a safety measure that you sign in at the office so we are aware of who is in our building at all times.
We ask that if you are picking up your child to please wait in the front foyer of the school or outside the front doors. Due to our increase in enrollment our hallways get very congested especially at the end of the day and we want to ensure a smooth and quick transition for students getting on the buses.
The St. Luke staff would like to host your family for a BBQ on Wednesday, September 20 from 5-7 pm. A family food order sheet is being sent home today, September 8, and we ask families to return their requests to the office by Friday, September 15.
Toonies for Terry
It’s that time of year again! Time to come together as a school for one very important event: the annual Terry Fox Run.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be participating in one of the greatest fundraising events in Canada. Our school will join over 8,000 schools all across Canada to raise money for cancer research. Each school celebrates Terry’s legacy in their own way, but together we all play a role in finding a cure for cancer. During the weeks leading up to our run on Thursday, September 19th, we will be collecting 'Toonies for Terry'. Donations in any amount can be handed in to homeroom teachers. Thank you in advance for your generous support! Date has been changed to Tuesday, September 19 at 2 pm.
Praise and Worship Assemblies
Every Friday morning our school community gathers for a Praise and Worship celebration. We invite parents and families to join us at 8:30 am in the gym. Younger children are welcome to attend and sit with their parents on the back risers.
Transportation Safety
We ask that all families provide a written note to their child's homeroom teacher if there is a change to their regular pick up schedule. If we do not receive a note or a phone call we will ask the child to use their regular form of transportation at the end of the school day.
Thank you for keeping all our students safe while they get on and off the buses at the beginning and end of the day. Our bus drivers want to ensure the students in their care are safe and that people are not walking between buses.
Parent School Council
The first Parent Council meeting will be held on Monday, September 11 at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria at St. Luke School. Free babysitting is provided in the gym for young children during the meeting.
