MANAAKITANGA AWARD RECIPIENTS: WEEK 7, Term 2
Nanise Waqa (Nancy) Pukaki 3
Nancy is a brilliant role model for her peers. She leads by example, consistently demonstrating each of our 3R’s. Nancy always has a positive attitude for learning and gives her best effort to everything she does. She willingly supports other students with their learning and shows kindness to everyone around her.
Linkin Southall Tunohopu 4
Linkin is a kind, polite and considerate student in Tunohopu 4 who is always willing to help his classmates and his teacher. He participates cheerfully in class and school activities. Linkin approaches his school work with enthusiasm and curiosity and asks questions when he wants further information. Linkin - you are such a positive role model for other students and you are a valued member of Tunohopu 4.
Te Matariki Wairama Whitu Te Rangiiwaho 3
Te Matariki has been an exceptional student. He sets high standards for himself and others, while maintaining a great sense of humour. His kindness and supportive nature makes him well liked by all who have the pleasure of interacting with him. He can be proud of the rangatira he has become.
Boran Aydin Hurungaterangi 2
Boran, you are a kind and considerate person in our Hurungaterangi whanau. You show our school values consistently showing respect towards others. You quietly support your peers and we appreciate all that you do.
Eli Pahl Te Roro o te Rangi 2
Eli has been taking responsibility for his learning, he continuously demonstrates positivity in and outside the classroom. He is very supportive towards his peers and is showing great leadership skills.
Zari Goodley Pathways - Hurungaterangi 1
Zari is a happy and very caring student who demonstrates respect for self and respect for others. She is reliable and able to self manage where she completes a variety of tasks and will still find time to help others that require support. Zari will often use her initiative to see how she can help in the kitchen such as putting resources away and cleaning the main table which is greatly appreciated

Acacia Martin - Pukaki 4
Acacia is our student who justb keeps on giving. She gives kindness, helpfulness and dedication. This week she especially rose to fill in all sorts of gaps for our Whanau day activities. She baked like a trooper and then did the parts that everyone else runs from - the cleaning up! What makes her such a worthy Manaakitanga award recipient, is that she volunteers with a cheerful heart. Thank you for all that you do for our class and whanau, Acacia.
Lochlyn Thrush - Tunohopu 3
Lochlyn is a proud member of Tunohopu whanau. He is a consistently hard worker and always puts his hand up to help students and teachers. He was adamant to help serve soup and bread at the Matariki festival, even though he has a moon boot and crutches - this just shows his kindness and motivation.
Manatsu Iwasaki - Te Rangiiwaho 1
Manatsu is a hard working student who always works for the good of the class. She will help out with any job and is reliable to follow through. She did an excellent job helping at the Matariki Festival by jumping in where needed. She is always honest and shows fair play at all times.
Simon Relf - Hurungaterangi 1
Simon is a kind and thoughtful student of our Hurungaterangi Whanau. He takes responsibility for his learning, sharing his ideas and listening to others points of view. He reaches out to his classmates offering a helping hand and consistently models a high level of respect and manners when engaging with students and adults.
Te Rua Iraia-Walker - Te Roro o te Rangi 3
Ka tika me tuku mihi atu kia koe e Tama. Te Rua has shown exceptional commitment towards his learning. He demonstrates Manaakitanga during class time and when given a responsibility within our whanau, he exceeds all expectations.
Jade Gordon - Pathways - Te Roro o te Rangi 3
Jade was an excellent student in Science. Always keen to continue on her learning journey and help others along the way. She always showed resilience and perseverance and loved to share her experiences and knowledge. Keep up the awesome work Jade!

We have an awesome week planned that includes rock climbing, archery, target shooting, bush walks, orienteering, team building and confidence activities.
A typical "Kiwi Outdoors" camp with an emphasis on mountain safety and bush survival skills.
Planned and run by local teacher Todd Burton and based at Aongatete Outdoor Education Centre, this one's going to be awesome!

Jiraiya has stood out these past weeks as a student who consistently shows kindness to others, helping others to understand work and looking out for them. He has such a positive attitude towards his school work and is a great role model.
Uriyah Wharehinga (Tunohopu 1 - Hine Kaha)
Uriyah has come into our class in the later weeks of Term 1. Since her arrival she has shown respect towards her peers, teacher and always turns up to school with a positive attitude, ready to learn and try new things.
Stevie Ngamoki (Te Rangiiwaho 2)
Stevie, you show respect for others in all that you do. You are kind to everyone that you come into contact with, and always have a positive attitude. Thank you for always helping out other students and your kaiako Stevie.
Abbagail Keogan (Hurungaterangi 1)
Abbagail is being recognised for her consistent role modeling of RIS values to our Hurungaterangi whanau. She quietly does the right thing and helps others, without being asked, showing integrity. She was super disciplined during our haka waiata practises, all the while encouraging others to do the same. Abbagail will quietly share her opinions and build onto others ideas respectfully, especially during our novel study.

Harry Lane (Te Rangiiwaho 1 - Pathways / Taeotu)
Harry, you have taken ownership of your learning by working independently and solving your own problems. You work cooperatively with his peers and are always keen to help them whenever they need assistance. You are respectful and polite when engaging with students and teachers, and are an excellent role model.
