The Empire State Building
By: Michael Broderick
Standing 1250 feet tall with 57,480 tons of steel the Empire State Building is truly and amazing structure. One amazing thing about the Empire State Building is what it was like during its construction. Another incredible thing about the Empire State Building is its architecture. The last awesome thing about the Empire State Building is the people that built, funded, and own the Empire State Building.
Crazy Construction
The construction of the Empire State Building was absolutely incredible. From 1929 to 1930 people worked long and hard to build what would be one of the tallest buildings in the world. To make work easier there were temporary elevators, water tanks, and, yes, toilets. There were also five lunch stands and a restaurant. No need to leave the job. Get hot beef and coffee here on the unfinished forty seventh floor.
Amazing Architecture
The Empire State Building has some amazing architecture. It is 1,250 feet tall! That's almost the length of 36 school buses! The Empire State Building also has 57,480 ton of structural steel! That's 1,437 semi-trucks!
People
There were some awesome people that helped build the Empire State Building. John Jakob Raskob came up with the idea of building the Empire State Building. John, his friend Louis Kaufman, and other investors funded the construction of the Empire State Building. Unfortunately twenty years after the Empire State Building was finished in 1950 John Raskob Died. Currently the Empire State Realty Trust owns the Empire State Building.
Wow, I never knew that the construction of the Empire State Building was so amazing. I also never knew how awesome its architecture is. It's also really cool that a group of people got together to build one of the tallest buildings in the world. The Empire State Building is truely amazing.
