Every Student Counts, Every Moment Matters!
Message From Principal Webb
Hello families-
We had a great first week back from break and it was great to see all of the smiling faces back at school. We started our week off with a PBIS assembly to review expectations. Throughout the week we talked about respecting ourselves.
Next week 5th grade will have Gingsberg Artist Visit, Kindergarten will visit the ICM and 6th grade will get a visit from SEJH counselors.
For our older students don't forget Orff Club starts Tuesday after school.
If you are interested in helping with the Art Show, there will be a meeting on Wednesday, January 15th, 5:00 at Longfellow.
Finally, don't forget to sign up or send back your informational sheet to have a booth at International night!
Have a safe weekend!
Sincerely,
Kelli Webb

Art Show
International Night
Join the Longfellow staff in celebrating the diversity of our school!! Mark your calendars for Thursday, February 6th, 6:00-7:30 pm. This special event is where your family will have the opportunity to experience and enjoy culture, taste ethnic foods, and see artifacts from all over the world. We are seeking presenters for this year’s event! A presenter will set up a table/booth and is responsible for bringing artifacts, music, clothing and/or food representing your culture and heritage. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your family’s traditions, and we would like as many countries represented as possible. If you’d like to share a dance or sone, along with clothing displays or game spaces, we can make time to perform and display these as well. If you are interested in being a presenter and are willing to share artifacts and/or food from your country, please complete the form below by Jan. 30th, 2020.

Parent Teacher Association-(PTA) Information
The Latest News from the Longfellow Elementary Parent Teacher Association (PTA):
DINE OUT AT 2 DOGS
We’re kicking off the new year with a dine-out fundraiser at 2 Dogs Pub throughout January!
The restaurant will donate a portion of its sales for the entire month to our PTA, but participants
must specifically tell their servers that they’re dining there in support of Longfellow. Please
remember to mention us, so that our school receives all the proceeds!
McTEACHER UPDATE
Thanks to all those who attended our recent McTeachers Night event. We raised more than $300
for our school, and the room with the most attendees was Ms. Rocca’s fourth-graders.
Congratulations to their class!
MARK YOUR CALENDARS
Anyone can join the PTA! We ask for a $10 “goodwill” donation when you join, but this fee is
totally optional. Please note that our next meeting has been moved to Tuesday, February 11,
2020, to accommodate for caucus night. We will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Longfellow library.
All are welcome, and we hope to see you there!
CARNIVAL TIME
Every year, Longfellow holds a schoolwide carnival that also is our biggest fundraiser. This
year’s carnival will be on Saturday, April 18, 2020, so please save the date! The event will
include games, a cakewalk, raffles, and a silent auction, as well as food for sale. We will have
more details in the weeks to come, but we hope your whole family can attend. The carnival is a
fantastic event, and the money it raises helps us provide field trips, classroom and media support,
special school experiences, and more!
