DMT
N,N-Dimethyltryptamine
Overview
DMT is a psychedelic compound and is a member of the tryptamine family. It is consumed by indigenous Amazonia Ameraindian cultures through the consumption of ayahusca for divinatory and healing purposes. DMT was first synthesized in 1931 by Canadian chemist Richard Helmuth Fredrick Manske (1901–1977).
Method of Use
Most people smoke DMT, but you can drink it, eat it, snort it, or even take it is a suppository.
Short Term Effects
- While on DMT, it is very possible to have a bad trip. This means that your brain will take you to a place that you dont like and that is most likely scary to you. While on it, your brain puts you on a roller coaster ride of hallucinations and you cant stop it. Some short term effects are:
- You’re often completely incapacitated and unable to move
- It comes on so fast it can feel extremely overwhelming
- If you’re totally convinced by your hallucinations, you might do something stupid or dangerous
- The smoke is very harsh on your lungs and throat
- Uncomfortable feelings in your stomach
- Increased heart rate and blood pressure

Withdrawl Symptoms
DMT withdrawal is not a physical phenomenon and exists entirely psychologically, where the user becomes confused or angered by actual reality because of prolonged exposure to DMT hallucinations and seeks the drug for the purpose of repeated escape.
