St. Mary's School Wednesday Weekly
November 29, 2017
FROM THE DESK OF MRS. COX ...
Our monthly assembly today celebrates Students of the Month, Academic Awards from 1st trimester, and Attendance Awards. I am introducing attendance awards to celebrate students who are at school and on time every day. Each month, I will hand out additional award tags so students can add to their collection. Students who attend class daily and do not arrive late or leave early are more likely to succeed because they get all of the instruction, discussion, and activities offered by St. Mary's. If you want to help your child do better in school, get them to class on time and let us help them grow!
That said, we understand that children (and adults) get sick. If your child has a fever, he or she must stay home without a fever for 24 hours. Please do not send them to school with a fever; we'll just be calling you to pick them up. Meanwhile, they will be sharing germs.
Sunday is a fresh start, the beginning of a new year (in the church), and the start of our preparations for Christmas. That's right - Advent is almost here! The four Sundays of Advent mark our time of waiting for Christ's birth, and each week we light another candle in the Advent wreath. I pray that your family is getting their wreath and candles ready for the season. As the days grow darker, the light of Christ shines brightly!
With a grateful heart,
Mrs. Cox
