American Legion Auxiliary Minnesota Girls State
The American Legion Auxiliary Minnesota Girls State is a program in government and good citizenship for young women sponsored by the Minnesota American Legion Auxiliary. (ALA)
ALA Minnesota Girls State will be held Sunday, June 12th to Thursday, June 18th, 2022 at Bethel University in St. Paul.
Eligibility & Qualifications:
- must have completed her junior year of high school in a Minnesota public, charter, home school, parochial or private school or be a resident of Minnesota and have at least one more semester remaining prior to graduation.
- must be a citizen of the U.S. or have legal residency
- must have high moral character with strong leadership abilities
- must have no marital status (National ALA Mandate)
- must not have attended any other ALA Girls State session
- must demonstrate an interest in American government and have an above average scholastic rank
-must respect the American flag and be willing to pledge allegiance to it

Macalester College Pre-College Residential Experience Program
PRE@Mac is a free four-day residential immersion into the college experience designed specifically for Minnesota high school sophomores and juniors from Black, Indigenous, and/or Communities of Color (BIPOC). The program focuses on exploring the identities students bring to a college community and how they find their sense of belonging. June 15-18, 2022

Participants will:
Explore how your identities might impact your college experience and how to find a sense of belonging
Live in a campus residential hall like a college student
Sample classes taught by Macalester professors
Learn how to access financial aid resources to make college more affordable
Be mentored by Mac students who are just like them!

The admission representatives that visit Eagan high school are the same people that review college applications. Students can view these visits by logging into their Naviance Student account (Video directions here). Students should register on Naviance for both virtual AND/OR in person college visits. The registration in Naviance is the pass to leave class. If registering for a virtual visit during the school day, students should bring their iPad and earbuds to the counseling office to log-on for the visit. College visits are added daily, so students are encouraged to log into Naviance to see updates.
