FIELD TRIP TO THE INSTITUTE OF TEXAN CULTURES & THE ALAMO
Fourth grade will be heading to San Antonio on Friday, December 14th. Thanks to the generous support of our PTO, the grade level will be taking charter buses to the Institute of Texan Cultures and the Alamo. We will be leaving promptly at 8:00 am from the bus lanes and will be returning at 4:00 pm. We realize that our trip will extend slightly past the original school day, but given the distance and the educational opportunities we did our best to maximize the time we will have on our trip.
Parent volunteers are welcome. If you are interested in being one of the volunteers for your classroom, please let your child’s teacher know. We will need as many volunteers as possible for this field trip. In addition, volunteers will need to provide their own transportation and are encouraged to carpool with other parent volunteers. We ask that volunteers stay for the entire duration of our trip, as you will be assigned a small group of students to help supervise at the Alamo. We will also be visiting the Institute of Texan Cultures.
Please understand that this trip is for the grade level, so if you are a volunteer please make arrangements for siblings.
Students and volunteers will need to bring a water bottle, snack, and a disposable lunch for the afternoon. We will be eating lunch on the back patio at the Institute before going over to the Alamo. Additional information will be provided closer to the date of our trip.
We look forward to witnessing part of our state’s history with your kids!
