NEW LEARNING!
WISH LIST: (Thank you for all those who have donated so far!)
We desperately need to restock our supplies. If you are able, please send your child to school with a bottle of white school glue, Crayola Crayons, and Washable Markers.
THANK YOU!!!!
We are continuing on this week with objectives introduced last week. This week we will work on applying these new skills. We are also working on the same spelling pattern this week, so words will be the same. We will text on Friday.
If you have not sent your child's individual sight word bags back to school, please do so this week. We will test this week and set our new sight word goals.
Readers: Your child should have their reader 3-4 nights a week. Our overall class reading accuracy is great! I am so proud of your kiddos! While our accuracy is awesome, I am seeing is that we are struggling on fluency. Please have them read their readers to you every night. Even if they know the book, rereading is what they need to build that fluency rate. The reading assessments at the higher level is timed and your students are now reaching the higher levels. Also, PLEASE take advantage of Raz-Kids. It's a great program that we were able to get the school to pay for. Raz-Kids readers earn points for reading and are able to use those points to shop in a virtual store. Much like video game points, Raz-Kids motivates students to read. I am taping your students code on their binder Monday so that they can log in at home and read. There's also a Raz-Kids app.
