Holy Family Updates

March 9, 2023

Dear HFRCS Families,

March is flying by! We just finished the Terra Nova’s with only a few students making up the sections they missed. We also had a lot of other activities and events going on the past week as well. We had grades celebrating Read Across America and Stations of the Cross last week, our Designer Bag Bingo Saturday night, 4th grade dissected owl pellets yesterday, and many many more. A big shoutout to HSA, our amazing families, and the best teachers around for making it such a great time.

Just as a reminder, the Terra Nova’s are a standardized test that is given across the country in the major subjects of reading, language, and mathematics. Once we receive the results later this year, we share them with you so that you can see how much your children have achieved compared to other students in the same grade. We are extremely proud of how hard they worked and are excited to receive the results in a couple months.

Looking ahead, we have another Stations of the Cross tomorrow, 3/10, at 1pm with Deacon Jack and we have mass Wednesday, 3/15, at 9:30am with Fr. McDermott, both at St. Joseph’s church. All are welcome to attend. Our monthly virtue is Patience after St. Francis de Sales. 3/15 is an 11:30 dismissal. Another reminder that next Friday, 3/17, is Report Card Conferences and a virtual day for students. They will bring home all the materials they need on Thursday as they will have assignments to complete.

As always, thank you for your support and dedication to Holy Family and catholic education. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

Mr. Elia

Big picture

Alpha Youth Group

St. Joe’s Parish is starting a youth program called Alpha Youth Group. It is for students in grades 8 through 12 and the program emphasizes our faith over a series of nine meetings. Each meeting begins with a meal, followed by a presentation with a discussion. It is a great opportunity for our children. Any 8th grade student who participates will receive a dress down each week. Below is a link for the program and to register.

COVID Policy Reminder

At Holy Family, our number one priority will always be the safety of our students, staff, and families. We have seen an increase number of positive cases among students the last three days. Nothing to panic about, but we must make sure we are following proper protocols and taking necessary precautions. If we do not work together, we may be facing a mask mandate and/or possible virtual days if the numbers continue to rise.

As a reminder, our COVID Policy is below. So, please make sure you monitor for symptoms.

Everyone will follow the same procedures regardless of their vaccination status.

If you are exposed to someone who is positive with COVID-19

- There is no quarantine period, but masks will be strongly recommended.

If you live with a person(s) who has tested positive for COVID-19

- There is no quarantine period, but masks will be required. The length of time will be confirmed by Nurse Victoria.

If you test positive for COVID-19

- You must contact Nurse Victoria immediately. You will isolate for at least 5 days and be able to return after that time period if you are free of fever and your overall symptoms have improved. Nurse Victoria will confirm your return date and when you will be able to return to being mask optional.

Please do not hesitate to contact myself or Nurse Victoria if you have any questions or concerns.
