Next Phase of Re-Opening
Beginning the week of October 12, we will move to the next stage of our plan to return students to schools with an expanded number of students participating in face-to-face instruction. In the Commitment Survey, families made a selection to have their children return for face-to-face or continue to receive all-virtual instruction. In this next phase, students who expressed interest in coming back will attend school in-person one day per week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday. Instruction on Wednesdays will remain fully virtual for all students.
Schools will begin providing additional details to families by Monday, October 5, which will include the day of the week to which students are assigned. This will also include information on transportation, meals, and safety measures in place. Siblings/students living in the same household will be grouped so that they are assigned to the same day of the week regardless of school or grade level.
We will continue to follow our Re-Opening Plan protocol of re-evaluating every thirty days and are hopeful that we will be able to further expand face-to-face learning in the next round. We will continue to seek the guidance of the Cecil County Health Department in order to ensure that we are keeping health and safety at the forefront of these decisions.
Please take a moment to view Dr. Lawson's video below in which he explains more about our next phase of re-opening. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we all go through this process together.
