Keeping our Students and Staff Healthy

We are asking parents to please keep their children home from school if they are sick or are not feeling well. It is important that we work together to continue to keep our students and staff healthy. As a reminder, students who have a temperature, persistent cough or are feeling sick, should stay at home. If your child is sick enough that you have taken them to the doctor to receive a Covid test, please do not send them to school while you are awaiting the results.

We have had a number of students arrive to campus without a mask each day. All students and staff are required to wear masks in DVISD buildings. Please send your child to school with a mask.

Water Bottles

We are encouraging all students to bring a water bottle from home every day. This can be as simple as a regular bottle of water from the store that can be refilled throughout the day. Remember, our drinking fountains are still off limits but we do have several touchless water bottle refilling stations on the campus. There is no need to buy fancy water bottles. Something simple, with your child's name on it will do.

School Arrival

This is a reminder that school starts at 7:30AM every morning. Please make sure your student arrives by 7:30AM so they can be on time to class every day. Our doors open at 7:00AM. Please do NOT drop your child off in front of our building before 7:00AM. There is not supervision of students before 7:00AM.

DVISD Covid-19 Communication

Del Valle ISD is committed to maintaining efficient communication to families and staff regarding Covid-19 cases and close contact identification within the district. As you can imagine, it has been increasingly challenging for DVISD’s district nurses to identify all close contacts due to the Omicron Variant. In an effort to maintain the quick communication you have been accustomed to, effective today, the district’s Covid-19 notifications will change. Please review these changes below:

  • Campuses will continue to notify all staff and families of cases on campus.

    • *Please note, messages are only provided if the positive individual was present on a campus.

  • The messages will display the date of the case on campus.

  • Each message will also list the number of staff cases for the day and when possible, list any classroom that had a case.

  • Individuals in affected classrooms will no longer receive an individual phone call.

  • If you were present in a classroom listed, please monitor yourself for symptoms and review the recommendations in the message.

As a reminder, we continue to thoroughly clean and disinfect areas of the building with Covid cases.

Additional information can be found at dvisd.net/covid19.
