"Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." ~ Albert Einstein
We will be having our Holiday Celebration thanks to some dedicated work on our behalf by our Family Outreach committee. Since I haven't been around much for the last couple of days, I don't know if you have already passed out the flyers - if not, they will be ready to go very soon.
In our ongoing theme of "change" we will be fine tuning our OT service delivery. To better meet the needs of our student IEP requirements, our therapists will be providing two direct therapy sessions per month instead of one. That means there will be one less time for them to be involved in center activities. If you have any questions about how this will work for your class, contact your therapist or me.
Tamara Sampson has contacted me with information for an ASD program called Connections through Mott Children's Health Center. This program is based on Greenspan's Floortime model and includes assessment and treatment planning, family sessions, parent training, and referral support. They are giving priority to children ages 2-5. The program will run from April, 2014 to January, 2015. I have some printed information available to give to parents. If you know of any interest contact me.
A special thank you to Sherry Smeltzer for overseeing the distribution of our surprise Thanksgiving baskets. We received five baskets from the Skill Center and were able to distribute them to some of our very appreciative families.
