Chapter 9:

Social and Political Philosophy

Welcome to the Chapter 9 discussion on "Social and Political Philosophy"

“Social philosophy and Political philosophy are both very closely related fields of philosophy generally dealing with the role of the individual in society, as well as the role of government”. (“Social and Political Philosophy”, n.d)

John Rawl, a political philosopher, situates his liberal position in his Theory of Justice that highlights two fundamental principles that guarantee a just and moral society.

John Dewey, a social philosopher, situates his ethical point of view in consequentialism.
