A Message from Mrs. Johnson

Hello Bryant families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

Picture day was Friday, October 7th. However, don't stress. If you child missed picture day for whatever reason, make up day will be this Friday, October 14th. This will be our last opportunity to have your child take fall pictures at the school site. In some situations the company may allow you to bring our child to the studio to take pictures however you will need to contact them directly to make those arrangements.

In observance of Indigenous Peoples Day, some neighboring district have Monday, October 10th off. Please be aware this is a school day for RUSD. SCHOOL WILL BE IN SESSION.

We are gearing up for parent/teacher conference which will be help November 3rd and 4th. Both days will be non-student days. Your child's teacher will be sending out information to schedule a conference. You will have the option to hold your conference viturally or in-person. Please be sure to respond to your child's teacher as soon as notifications go out. More info will be forthcoming.

As always, Bee Fantastic, Bee Great, Bee the Difference! Have a great week!

We are all in this together!

Parents!!! We need your help and support. Bryant prides itself on being a small community school where family, community, and kindness is promoted and typically displayed by all. Over the past few weeks, we have had a significant increase in discipline concerns at school. Those concerns include the use of vulgar and profain language, demonstrating disrespect to school staff, and inappropriate cell phone use while at school. Maintaining a positive, collaborative, and nuturing school culture is imperative to the learning process. Please talk to your student about the importance of being respectful and following directions while at school. Our goal and responsibility is not only to ensure students are able to master grade level academic standards but to also ensure they are good stewards of the core virtues and are able to maintain positive and thriving relationships with others. We thank you in advance for your support in this area. If you ever have any questions please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher or to call the front office.

STEM at Bryant

Our first graders have learned to identify simple machines—the ramp (inclined plane), wheel and axle, pulley, lever, wedge, screw, and gears. They have explored where these devices are found and experienced how they can make a given task easier. Using the Lego BricQ Essential Motion STEM kits our scholars are learning to be creative, engaged, lifelong learners with the ability to collaborate with their peers in positive ways, through active engagement to build and problem solve.

The Queen Bee of Attendance!

For the second time this year Ms. Reed and her super students have top the attendance charts. Thank you so much to all of the families for ensuring your children are at school on time, everyday ready to learn.

Music and Rythm helps us learn

Studies have shown that music produces several positive effects on a human's body and brain. Music activates both the left and right brain at the same time, and the activation of both hemispheres can maximize learning and improve memory. Maintaining rythm to a song using drum sticks is easier said then done. Thank you to Mrs. Jurls and her super students activing thier brains first thing in the morning. Thank you to Ms. Janet Sewell, RUSD staff development specialist and Lauren Hitchcock, RUSD MTSS liasion, for joining in on the fun.
