Quarter Three Report Cards Released

On Friday, April 13th all parents/guardians should have received an email from our Guidance Department Chair, Ms. Hitchings. The email includes your son or daughter's quarter three report card including teacher comments.

As advertised in our weekly news, Scituate High School has made the transition to a digital reporting system last year and therefore, high students will no longer receive paper report cards. If you are unable to access the internet or do not have an email, please contact the guidance office and a paper copy will be printed upon your request. If you believe that you did not receive an email from Ms. Hitchings
please follow these steps.
Check the spam or junk folder in your personal email.
Contact Ms. Hitchings at 401-647-4108 ext. 2209
If there are any specific concerns about your son or daughter's quarter grades, please contact the teacher and/ or school guidance counselor.

Senior Project Looking for community judges may 3rd

I am beginning to plan the 2018 Senior Project Presentation Night. This year the presentation night is scheduled on Thursday, May 3rd. As in the past, there will be two sessions of judging. Each session will have a short training on judging procedures and time will be allotted for a brief review of student binders. People who are interested in judging the first session should arrive at the school by 3:00. A light dinner will be served at 5:00 and the second session will begin at 5:50.

If you are interested in participating in this event, e-mail me at Jill.Morton@ScituateschoolsRI.net and indicate which session, or both that you are willing to volunteer for.

Spring Sports

WEATHER As you all know Spring weather in New England is extremely unreliable. It changes day to day and sometimes minute to minute. Cancellations are sometimes tricky and sometimes unavoidable. Please stress to your athlete that he/she should dress appropriately and pack layers so that they are prepared for the quickly changing conditions.

Golf Tournament Fundraiser

On May 12th we will be holding the first annual Craig Feeney Golf Tournament at Foster Country Club. Craig was a firefighter for over thirty years. As a teenager he volunteered at Hope Jackson station in Scituate after which he was stationed in Exeter. Finally joining the ranks in the Cranston fire department in 1995 where he served for eighteen years. At his Alma Mata, Scituate High School, Craig was responsible for the resurgence of football in 2004 and was the assistant football coach for nine years. Sadly, Craig passed away after a courageous battle with cancer in 2013 at the young age of forty eight. This year we are holding this golf tournament to raise money for a scholarship in Craig’s name that will be awarded to a worthy student. A hallmark of Craig’s personality was helping others and our goal is to continue a scholarship in his name for years to come that will continue to help students realize there potential.
