Introducing the January / February Diary

Whilst you have been writing cards and feeding your Christmas cakes we have been beavering away at the next diary. It has now been officially released and tickets go on sale to the general public next Thursday 10 December.

We say it everytime, but it is still true, there really is something for everyone in this diary.

There is of course the tour de force that is Oddsocks to welcome in the New Year with 'The Legend of King Arthur'. There is an eclectic range of musical events including Jazz, from the Guernsey Music Centre, an evening of recital with Youth Camerata, Summon the Superheros with BWCI Camerata and A Matter of Patter with renouned singer and comic actor Richard Suart.

However if you don't fancy any of the above we also have a Friends of St James Evening with a staged portrayal of former Guernsey resident Ron Blicq's play 'Choosing Home', Rotary Youth Speaks showcasing the public speaking skills of local students, the National Trust Annual Quiz, and Jambusters an illustrated lecture on the role of women on the home front during World War II.

We recently held our 2015 AGM with our president, Angus Bodman, describing the year as challenging, but that St James continued to be in good heart and hands.

Café St James continues to go from strength to strength and it is abundantly clear that the investment made towards the refurbishment and relaunch of the Café was a wise one. John Evanson and Lorna Waring are skillfully managing the day-to-day business of the café, as well as providing all of the catering for the conference rooms. We really do encourage you to come along and give them a try. For their website click here

Do you fancy volunteering? We are always on the lookout for volunteers to help us with stewarding, box office and maybe even Duty Managing. If you are a Friend of St James and would like to lend your time we would be delighted to hear from you. Please call the administration office for more information on 01481 711360
