The Hunger Games
If I'm going to be honest I don't read much. My mom recommended me this book to read after she finished it, and I completely loved it. After I finished all three books in the series, I haven't found a book that I liked as much since. Each year a reaping is held, a girl and boy is chosen from each of the twelve districts to fight for their life, knowing only one is left as the victor. When Katniss showed complete selflessness, and volunteered for her sister at the reaping is when I got hooked. With the life or death plot, and Katniss and Peeta's love story, I could barely put the book down.
Strength/Skill
In the Hunger Games each tribute has a strength/skill and you have to use each one to the best of your ability in order to stay alive.
Competition
Competition is a big part in this book and not like normal sports competitions, but one of life and death.
Love
In the Hunger Games we learn that love can be a good way to keep you alive.
Quotes
1. "The bow and arrow is my weapon. But I've spent a fair amount of time throwing knives as well."
2. "The competition will be far beyond my abilities. Kids from wealthier districts, where winning is a huge honor, who've been trained their whole lives for this. Boys who are two to three time my size. Girls who know twenty different ways to kill you with a knife. Oh, there'll be people like me, too. People to weed out before the real fun begins."
3. "Remember, were madly in love, so its all right to kiss me anytime you feel like it."
