CASSIDY'S HOME OF THE FUTURE
Grade 9 Science CPT
A "Green" Environment
I would have a compost and recycling system in my home. The compost system would help reduce waste in our landfills. Plus, I could also use it to make natural fertilizers for my own plants and lawn instead of wasting money and destroying our earth by buying and using artificial store bought fertilizers. A recycling system would be good for our environment. I could also reuse things like plastic water bottles instead of recycling them or throwing them out right away.
Atoms, Elements, and Compounds
Three chemicals found in this home that are dangerous and harmful to both humans and animals are:
Chlorine, which can be found in laundry detergent, can damage pets' skin, eyes or other membranes. Since animals are smaller and breathe faster than humans, it affects them more and they are more at risk.
If pets inhale this substance, it can cause headaches, respiratory distress and eye inflammation. In humans, if the ingredient Napthalene (found in Mothballs) enters the body, it can damage or destroy red blood cells.
Spraying chemical fertilizers on your lawn puts your dogs at a greater risk of developing lymphoma.
The Characteristics of Electricity

The Study of the Universe
Another type of technology are the homes solar panels. The ERAST Alliance needed to develop an aircraft that could fly for days at a time at high altitudes. This required advanced solar power sources that would not add weight (solar panels used on homes).
