A crash course in isiZulu

Unjani? [oon (as in "soon")- JAW-knee]
The second part of the greeting, meaning "how are you"? (singular)
To ask multiple people, it changes to "Ninjani".
As you may have started to realize, isiZulu is a compound language. Even though I say we're learning a word of the day, isiZulu words normally form full English sentences.
In this case, U-/Ni- are subject markers for "you" and "you all", respectively (see a list of all subject markers below).
-njani is an adjectival stem meaning "how" or "what/which kind of".
