The Greendell Gosling Flyer, 3rd Ed

Young Fives Flyers
Dear Greendell Families,
School is in full swing and our Greendell learners are amazing! They are creating beautiful art, making new friends, showing their teachers what they know and learning something new each day. It is quite a wonderful, heart-warming feeling, walking around our school and seeing the children having so much fun learning.
I cannot believe we are already halfway through September and the first day of Fall is next week. I look forward to the seasons ahead with our Greendell School community, even when those seasons seem to pass too quickly!

Next COVID-19 Testing Day at Greendell is Monday, September 20th
Weekly, asymptomatic COVID-19 testing is available at Greendell on Mondays, through PAUSD and Predicine Labs.
Please note that the testing is:
- Voluntary
- For asymptomatic individuals (not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms)
- Available to all students and staff
And while Predicine Labs will bill your insurance, you will not be required to pay out-of-pocket for the testing. Individuals without insurance can indicate this on the registration form and will not be billed.
Any testing needed for those with COVID-19 symptoms or for close contacts at school will occur separately from these regular, weekly testing days, in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
Please let me know if you have any questions and thank you again!
Pre-Registering for COVID-19 Testing
Families pre-register for on-site COVID Testing by completing the link here or scanning the QR code below. This will allow participants to register online for onsite testing and eliminate the paper registration.
Once you have registered, the individual being tested will only need to walk up to the testing clinic and they will be able to search them by name. The lab staff will be able to immediately connect the barcode for the test sample to the online registration information, shortening turn around times for notifications. You will receive your test results through an email or text message from “Patient Connect,” which is Predicine Labs new data system.
Please let your teacher know if you have registered your child for the Monday COVID-19 testing, since the registration is online. Please also indicate if you will be taking your child to the testing before school or if they will participate during the school day.
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the onsite testing or the registration process.

When should I keep my child home from school?
PAUSD schools also have very different health protocols to follow due to COVID-19. The PAUSD website has the most current COVID-19 safety information and answers to COVID-19 related questions. Below are some guidelines for families about when to stay home from school.
If your child has any of the symptoms of COVID-19 listed below, keep them home, consult with your child's health care provider and notify the Greendell office know
(greendellattendance@pausd.org; 650-856-0833).
Symptoms of COVID-19
fever (100 degrees or higher) or chills
cough
shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
new or unexplained sore throat
new or unexplained fatigue
new or unexplained muscle aches
new of unexplained headache
loss of taste/smell
new or unexplained nausea/vomiting/diarrhea
If your child has COVID-19 symptoms, they will need to take a PCR COVID-19 test before returning to school. We ask that families email a copy results of their child's PCR test to the office: greendellattendance@pausd.org.
If the test result is negative, your child can return after being free of fever/vomiting/diarrhea for at least 24 hours and their other remaining symptoms are improving.
If the result is positive, notify the office right away and follow the instructions from your healthcare provider. Additional information will be sent to you from PAUSD.
Illness with non-COVID-19 Symptoms
Fall is the time when we begin to see more colds and flus. If your child has symptoms of illness that are not listed above as COVID-19 symptoms (e.g. runny nose), please keep them home until symptoms improve and your child is able to participate in school activities.
Thank you for helping us keep our school community healthy!
