Welcome to Remote Learning!
Hello 5th Grade Students & Families,
We are excited to try this new approach to learning! The kiddos have been using technology regularly at Lytle ISD, so we know they will be fantastic at getting their learning done. We miss all our students tons!

Student Learning
**Please click on the links below this section to find the daily newsletter with assignment information.**
Students will be given fun and educational assignments to complete at home. These assignments have been divided up over a 3 to 4-Day learning week. For example, students should complete "Day 1" on Mondays. We understand that this is a unique learning experience, so please use the last day of the school week as a "catch-up" day for any assignments needing to be completed.
For those with internet access and devices: We are moving to Google Classroom this week. Your child's teacher should be contacting you with information on how to "join your class." This will be where the students will be turning in assignments for the week.
**These are the same assignments that are shown on this Smore Newsletter.**
For those working offline: Please continue to take pictures of your child's work, and sending it to your child's teacher through Remind or e-mail.
Week 9 (May 18 - 22)
Week 8 (May 11 - 15)
Week 7 (May 4 - May 8)
Week 6 (April 27 - May 1)
Week 5 (April 20 - 24)
Week 4 (April 14 - 17)
Week 3 (April 6-9)
Week 2 (March 30 - April 3)
Week 1 (March 23 - 27)
Additional Learning Expectations
- Students should still be working towards their weekly ST Math goal of at least 3% per week. We normally have the students work on ST Math for a minimum of 30 minutes at a time during the school day. This allows time for them to fully work through puzzles and any hurdles they may have.
- If students have already completed 100% progress on ST Math, they should be competing in the Prodigy March Challenge or working on SumDog during the week
- Have your child continue to read 20 minutes daily (books, MyOn, Epic, etc.), as well as practice their math facts (especially multiplication).
- Lastly, make sure to incorporate "Brain Breaks" into your daily schedule. Just like us, the kiddos need time to get their energy out and take a mental break every now and then.
Need Help?
Please feel free to ask as many questions as necessary during this time. All 5th Grade teachers will be holding “office hours” at established times throughout the day so that someone is always available to help! Simply click on the Teacher Help Request button below and fill out the form. We will contact you as soon as possible. We are here for you!
All additional information will also be placed on the Lytle Elementary Facebook page, classroom Facebook pages or Remind. Please check all periodically for updated information.
House Points & Choice Board
Here are the ways your child can earn house points:
- Wear "black and gold" or Lylte Pirate attire on Fridays (send a picture to your student's teacher through Remind of e-mail).
- Complete activities on the Weekly Choice Board. Points will be awarded for each completed activity. Send pictures of your completed choice board activities to your teacher through Remind or e-mail.
- Students can also earn House Points by listening for the "secret word" on the daily announcements, so make sure you are listening to those each day.
**To access the daily announcements, click on the "Lytle Elementary Remote Learning Homepage" button at the bottom of this page.**
