Literacy DVD Project Tapings
With your permission, children are recorded reading a short passage from their favorite book and answering several questions about the book and activities they have enjoyed throughout the school year. (If your child cannot read yet, we will have them talk about their favorite book instead!) At the end of fifth grade a “Literacy DVD” will be made with all of the recordings from the years past and given to your child.
You need only give permission once, so permission slips will be sent home for NEW participants only and are due on February 14.
We need volunteers to make this project successful! If you can help with recording (during the school day), or have any other questions, see the sign ups with links below or contact Nora Shurtz at nshurtz@comcast.net.
Recordings for fifth grade students will be from January 22 through January 25. Anyone wishing to volunteer to help with recordings can sign up here.
Recordings for fourth grade students will be from February 4 through February 8. Anyone wishing to volunteer to help with recordings can sign up here.
Prime Time Reading - Travel Through Time with Reading
Prime Time Reading is an evening of activities centered around the fun and adventure of reading for students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade.
This year, the event is scheduled for February 8 from 6 - 8 pm. The theme is “Travel through time with reading.”
Flyers will be going home with students on Tuesday. The sign up for parent volunteers will be posted next week.
