iReady Usage: Since the beginning of the year, our iReady usage has grown a couple percentage points each week. However, this week we dipped 9% in math and 5% in reading usage. Please ensure you are utilizing this tool in class and encouraging usage at home.

October Anti-bullying, Growth Mindset Assignments Past Due
Thank you to all teachers who submitted their October Deliverables on time. We saw great examples of how you are pushing anti-bullying in classrooms, growth mindset, and our GLA Jewel of the Month. To those staff members who have not submitted your class assignment, you will be contacted individually. Please understand that your participation in our school-wide culture and socio-emotional initiatives is not optional, but required. Keep in mind that at GLA we are committed to teaching the WHOLE child.
REMINDERS
Parent Communication
- All homeroom teachers are required to make three parent communications each month
- All teachers must use Remind (or similar apps) that will allow you to print your communications, at any time.
- All communications for October are due to Academy Leaders by Friday, end of Day)
- Are you sending home growth notes? How are you celebrating the success of scholars and communicating these successes to parents?
Trimester 1
- Trimester 1 is winding down
- Next Friday, November 9th, is the close of Trimester 1
- All final grades/report card comments are due on Tuesday, November 13th by 8am.
Report Card Conferences
- Report Card Conferences will take place on Saturday, November 17th
- All staff members are required to be present for report card conferences
- Conferences must be held with a teacher before a report card can be distributed
- Sign Up information will be sent to parents this week

Kudos Corner
- Kudos to Mr. Simpson for an excellent demonstration of learning. Your Wednesday Concerts brought such energy and joy to the front lobby. Most importantly, your scholars were so happy to shine. Thank you for bringing music to life at our school!
- Mrs. Aviles for attending the K-8 fair on Saturday and representing GLA in excellence!
- Kudos to Mr. Copeland, Mrs. Dean and Ms. Pritchett for a great Fitness Friday video.
