INCOMING AND RETURNING STUDENT SURVEY RESULTS

Every year we survey our new students in the fourth week of the semester, after the honeymoon has ended and the realities of classes and college life set in. We use the survey to identify and respond to students who appear to be at risk to help keep them on track for success.

This year’s Incoming Student Survey was modified from previous years’ surveys to account for the realities of Covid-19 and its impact on our students’ lives. In addition, we took the unusual step of surveying our continuing students (sophomores, juniors and seniors) in week five to check in on them and get a sense of how they are coping with remote learning.

Interesting, brief takeaways from these surveys can be found here. For more detailed results, consult these reports:

REMINDER: FRIDAY NOVEMBER 13 - LAST DAY TO WITHDRAW

Friday, November 13th is the last day for students to withdraw from a course AND withdraw from the college. To withdraw from a course, a student must complete this course withdrawal form. To withdraw from the college, a student must email Tara Arneson, tarneson@champlain.edu, from their Champlain email account, with their intent to withdraw. The deadline for students to receive a medical withdrawal is Friday, December 11.

MONDAY/TUESDAY OF THANKSGIVING WEEK

Yesterday, President Akande sent an email to all staff to announce that the Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving week will be non-working holidays this year so that staff, along with faculty, can take a well-deserved break. President Akande also activated the “no email” pledge during this time to minimize the amount of work that staff and faculty will return to when they return from their break on Monday, November 30th.
