2nd Six Weeks Brings Busy Times

We have Great News! Due to a change in airline pricing, and your hard work with Discount Card Sales, the overall cost of our trip has been reduced to $1150! We will now be traveling Southwest, out of Love Field! Flight times are slightly different, but the dates of the trip have not changed.


With our lowered cost, we also have one additional week to add students and chaperons without penalty! Get your deposits in THIS WEEK! Tickets to our Broadway shows have to be purchased by mid-October, but we have 20 spots looking for YOUR NAME to be attached. Go to trip.bowiechoir.com for more information!



One final reminder: this trip will continue to go down in cost based on your fundraising efforts! Poinsettias, Garage Sale, and Panathenaea will all serve to help lower the cost of our New York trip and help with the day-to-day finances of the Bowie Choral Department!

Fall Concert Next Week

All the ELEMENTS are coming together...

Thursday, October 15 at 7:00 PM we will hold our first major concert of the year! All choirs are preparing for a fantastic concert, and we cannot wait to share it with you. Students will be expected to be ready for a logistical walk thru of the concert at 5:00 PM. Doors will open to the public at 6:30 PM. Students need to have hair and make up done, and uniforms (tuxedo/black concert dresses) on, ready to perform, at 5:00. Plan accordingly.


Some VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION: If you/your student has not yet paid their Activity Fee or has not yet signed the Bowie Choir Handbook online, they will NOT be issued a uniform and will NOT be allowed to perform! This expectation has been made known to every student and to parents via our Parent Orientation Night, the information in the online Handbook, and via email. If you have not taken care of this very important issue, DO SO THIS WEEK!


We are in need of some parents to help supervise during the concert. If you are willing to help, please contact our Booster Club President, Robin Darwin, at bowiechoirboosters@gmail.com.

Round 2 and 9/10 Honor Choir Auditions

Saturday, October 17 is the date for TMEA All-State Round 2 Auditions and for 9/10 Honor Choir Auditions. If you are participating, be practicing your music! Mr. Lobaugh and Mrs. Batsel are expecting to see you after school this week and next so that we can help you with any musical concerns you may have!


If you are not auditioning, be sending well-wishes to those that are! We have four talented musicians in Round 2, and 20 auditioning for a place in the 9/10 Honor Choir!
