Bullying Prevention Awareness Month
October is recognized as Bullying Prevention Awareness Month and Mr. Harrison, our school counselor, has conducted weekly lessons to all students at our school to teach the importance of Bullying Prevention and how they can do their part to Recognize, Refuse, and Report bullying behavior. An important aspect of Bullying Prevention we specifically teach to our 4th and 5th graders is how to be responsible with digital platforms, such as texting, social media, online gaming and more. Cyberbullying greatly impacts our children and youth, and your partnership at home to teach them digital citizenship is important and greatly appreciated. Please take time to click on the link below for helpful tips to monitor and support your children's safe use when online.

Book Character Day
Picture Retakes
SOUTHWORTH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL RETAKE DAY is coming up: November 8th
Information regarding RETAKE DAY.
Retake day is for any student or staff that missed the original picture day.
The students ordering for the first time, need to utilize the RETAKE DAY order Code.
Please note: the retake day code is different from the order code for original picture day.
If students order pictures using the original picture day order code, they will receive the pictures taken on original picture day.
Retake day is also for any student that received a picture package that they are not happy with.
Those students need to return their picture package to the photographer in exchange for a free retake.
The package order from original pictures, automatically rolls over to the retake picture when the original picture package is returned, so, in this case, nothing needs to be done online.
Inter-state photography Code: 59613SB

Yelm Community Schools is required to collect military data from our families on an annual basis. This data collection includes identifying families that have no military affiliation as well. This data is important to ensure the continuation of our DODEA grants with our students. Please log into Family Access and click on the "Required Data Collection 2021-2022" on the left side of the front screen. Once you have completed the Military Family information, you will also have the opportunity to verify your students Ethnicity/Race and complete the Food Service Application.
We are happy to announce that we are going to begin our Military Family groups for students whose families are active duty, recently retired or separated from the military. Once you have completed the Military Family information in Skyward Family Access, contact Kim Holmes at kimberly_holmes@ycs.wednet.edu for your student's participation in these groups.
