What's Happening @ Carver STEAM?

January 5, 2021

Dear Caregivers,

Happy New Year!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday. I also hope that you and your families are safe and healthy as we prepare to return to school tomorrow.

Please note that we are now requiring that all students turn cameras on and show their faces during virtual instruction. We must ensure that our scholars are actively engaged and supported throughout the virtual learning experience. Please help us communicate this new requirement to our scholars.

If you have yet to do so, please complete the PBSA Caregiver Declaration of Intent survey, found here. Through this survey, you will be able to select whether you want your student to remain 100% virtual or return to in-person learning on February 1, 2021.

All caregivers will have until January 15, 2021 to make a selection. If you do not make a selection by the deadline, your student will remain virtual until at least the 4th quarter (March 22, 2021). On January 25, 2021, we will hold an orientation on ZOOM for those caregivers who completed the survey and chose to have students return to school for in-person instruction. Please be on the lookout for more information regarding the orientation.

Thank you for entrusting your scholar's education to the Carver STEAM family. We miss them dearly and we look forward to seeing all of our scholars back on campus soon. If you have any questions or concerns, please continue to reach out to me at ymuhammad@purposebuiltschools.org.

Remembering Mr. Eddie King

I am sorry to announce that we lost a very important member of the Carver family during the holiday break. Mr. Eddie King was a Carver graduate from the class of 1969. He worked tirelessly to raise scholarship funds for Carver students. You could always find Mr. King on our campus to provide support, share ideas, and plan events for the Carver community. He believed in our students and continuously spoke of the great things happening at our school. Please see the picture below for information on the viewing and visitation for our very own, Mr. Eddie King. He will be missed.
