Definition
An appositive phrase is a noun phrase or noun the renames another noun beside of it
Why it is important
The appositive always appears after the word it explains or identifies , so you know what your talking about
Examples
1. I can't find my notebook, the one I use for history class
2. My math teacher, Miss Holmes, has taught for twenty years
3.The garage, a two-car one, is attached to the house
4.Jerry is visiting in Ohio, his old home town
5.My teacher, Miss Marshall, is very strict
