MATHEWS e-News
We are 'All-In' this Together at Mathews!
This upcoming week is filled with special opportunities and memory making moments!
Remember, that Tuesday is Picture Day! We can't wait to see all those beautiful smiles!
Our fall book fair is next week as well! So many wonderful opportunities to be involved and enjoy this tradition! Today the school was a buzz with so many wonderful parent volunteers who are prepping for an amazing fall book fair. The library is being transformed into a winter wonderland. Please be sure to scroll down to read more about our book fair.
Our Peanut Butter Drive is wrapping up, ending on Monday, September 30!
We only have 6 days of our Peanut Butter campaign remaining. This is the perfect weekend to pick-up a jar or two of peanut butter to donate to those in our community in need.
We are currently at 154 jars towards our 250 goal.
Our students were challenged in announcements today to do the math...and they did!
We are at 154 of 250...We are 61% of the way there. We CAN DO THIS! WE CAN DO THIS!
WE CAN DO THIS! With your help!
Please consider sending your Mav with a jar of peanut butter to school next week. We want our students to know that ever gesture of kindness makes a difference. Our goal is 250 jars. If we make our goal, all classes will be eligible for a drawing. Winning classes will have Mr. Steele or Mrs. Powell read to their classroom. A big thank you to our Student Council officers for taking on this opportunity the first week/month in office!
And if you have already supported our Peanut Butter drive with a donation, please accept our sincere appreciation.

The FINAL 6 DAYS...Peanut Butter Drive!
'Spread' the Word...
Let's teach our children how even the smallest act of kindness when provided by many makes a BIG difference in our community.
Students are encouraged to bring jars of Peanut Butter to school to donate to the North Texas Food Pantry.
We have donations drop-offs at both of the main doors as students enter the building.
Together we make a difference.
