Note from the Principal's Desk

The students had a good time dressing up for Halloween! Our Prek students went to the zoo and some Montessori classes visited Fernbank. We have other field trips planned for grade levels and school assemblies. We like to offer real world experiences for application for our tigers! Our Chorus represented HHES well in their performance. Check it out below!


As a reminder, Tuesday, Nov. 8th is a digital learning day; there is no school. Students will bring home Chromebooks to complete assignments.


Want to say thank you to our staff? This Wednesday is "Give thanks to our Teachers". Please sign up to send a dish/item for the luncheon.


On Nov. 16, grades 1 & 2 will have a Thanksgiving luncheon with their parents or guests. We look forward to seeing families enjoy time together at the school!


The next coffee and conversation will be held Wednesday, December 7th at 9:00am.

As reminder, there is a digital learning day approaching on Tuesday, Nov. 8th! Grades 1-5 students will bring home Chromebooks to work on assignments. PreK and Kindergarten students will have a packet of work to complete. Students will return to school the following day.

Chamblee UMC Food Drive & Distribution

Do you need food for Thanksgiving?


Chamblee UMC is collecting and distributing food to 25 families at HHES. The plan is to use the school parking lot for food pick up on the Saturday and Sunday (Nov 19 and 20) before Thanksgiving so that families don’t have to travel very far to pick up food.

Tiger Time Reminders-NEW!

HHES is happy to offer affordable after care for our families. Below are a few reminders about payments. Thank you!



  • ASEDP is a prepaid program; Weekly payments $60 (1 child), $110 (2 children), $165 (3 children)
  • Payments are due Monday and considered late on Wednesday (a $5 late fee will be applied to tuition)
  • Students can be withdrawn from the program for non-payment
  • Please do not send payments in STAR folders or bookbags-Payments can be dropped off before or after school (The coordinator is a teacher on DCSD work hours & can not work ASEDP during work hours)
  • Late fees are charged at 6:01 at $1 per minute; Late fees need to be paid before the students can resume the after school program
  • Students can be suspended or withdrawn form after school for (a) excessive late pick-ups, (b) discipline problems (c) non payment of tuition and/or late pick up fees.
  • ASEDP is closed if the school closes for inclement weather.

How to Prevent Tardiness? Repeat

 Prepare the night before

 Backpacks should be packed and ready

 Make lunch the night before

 Bedtime at a reasonable hour

 Set alarm clock 15 minutes early

We need YOU! Buddies choose a time to come to the school every week. They are assigned to one class where they help small groups of students work on reading/literacy skills. Everything you need to know will be communicated in a training session! It is so powerful to help students gain the confidence and ability to read well and succeed in life!

Our concert attire is a “concert black” attire. This is a standard for most performing orchestras.


Gentleman: Black dress pants, black button up shirt, black dress shoes, black socks, black belt.


Ladies: Black dress or skirt (please follow school dress code on length). Black dress shoes. OR


Black dress pants, black button up blouse, black dress shoes, black socks, black belt.


It is absolutely fine if your attire has a fun flower or design on it, or a touch of color. The attire is a low pressure situation and designed to create the focus on the music performance.

DCSD Announcement-Student Meals-Repeat


Meals at no cost are no longer in effect for school year 2022-2023. Students who do not qualify for free and reduced meal benefits will be required to pay for breakfast and lunch meals this year. Parents are encouraged to complete a Free & Reduced Meal application (SchoolCafe.com).


Students who attend a school that participates in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) are eligible for breakfast and lunch at no charge. Parents do not need to complete an application to qualify for meals at CEP schools. SY 22-23 Meal Prices.

Technology Club-Repeat

Tech Club is open for enrollment! If you are a 3rd - 5th grade student and have a passion for technology and competition then Tech Club is for you! We will begin meeting every Thursday morning before school to get ready for our school wide competition in January. The top three winners will advance to the district competition January 21st.

Run Club

Huntley Hills Run club will be for grades 2-5. We will run for 10 weeks first semester and 10 weeks in second semester. The first 60 students will be accepted. We will run on Tuesday’s and have a tentative start date of September 6, 2022.


When is practice? Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30

What should I bring? Sneakers, water bottle, and sunscreen (optional)

First semester Spanish Club dates: 9/22, 9/29, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10 and 11/17 2022.


Hello Huntley Hills friends and parents! Before school Spanish Club with Ms. Villanueva will begin on Thursday 9/22/22. The first 15 students who have signed up using the sign up Genius link provided will have the opportunity to explore their interests and talents learning Spanish in this fun and exciting club.


Spanish Club will be split into two (2) sessions. First semester session will be open to students in K, 1st and 2nd grades, and second semester session will be open to 3rd,4th, and 5th grade students.


During Spanish Club, our focus will be in what we have learned or are currently learning in Spanish Class and Spanish games. Come ready to have some fun.

Afterschool/Tiger Time

Afterschool Program "Tiger-Time"- Tiger time will have a table in the Cafeteria to register your child for after school care. After care is 3:00-6:00, M-F. The registration fee is $25.00 and $60.00 each week. Please bring cash, money order, or check for registration fee and first week of payment. Ms. Camille Harvey is the after school director.
