Homecoming Week (Oct. 2 - 6)
Monday - Float decorating
Tuesday - Float decorating
Thursday - Homecoming Parade
Friday - Full Choir National Anthem performance at Homecoming
Saturday - Homecoming Dance
The homecoming parade theme is "The Stars at Night are Big and Bright."
Now that we have a truck and trailer, we can turn our focus to decorations and costumes. Antler Choir Leadership Team has chosen to take a spin on "The Stars at Night" by choosing a Red Carpet/Hollywood/Celebrities theme for the trailer.
We need the following items:
Aluminum foil
Gold poster board
10-15 hay bales
Several yards of red fabric
Zip ties
Gold border of some sort
Bags of candy (think starbursts or other "star" type candy)
Costuming
Juniors & Seniors: Celebrities that are either country/western OR from Texas
Freshmen & Sophomores: Paparazzi (handing out candy to paradegoers or taking pictures of the celebrities on the float)

Homecoming Game National Anthem Performance
We will sing the National Anthem at the homecoming game at Antler Stadium. We'll meet outside the field house on the visitor's side (near where the band trailer is parked) at the stadium at 5:30p to rehearse. It is important that students meet at the called time, otherwise they'll not be able to enter the game for free. Students may stay to watch the remainder of the game while sitting in the student section or with their parents, or they may leave as soon as we’re finished. If a student wishes to leave, they’ll be released to do so around 7:10pm. Students should wear the 23-24 choir t-shirt and may wear their mum or garter if they have one.
TMEA
TMEA, or Texas Music Educators Association, hosts multiple events for our music students, including the All-State auditions and other region-level auditions.
The first round of auditions for the All-State track is at Warren High School in San Antonio on Oct. 7. The entry deadline is Wednesday, September 20. We will travel together by bus to this event. If you are the parent or guardian of one of our auditionees, please consider going with us to serve as a chaperon. I will be judging singers all day.
The other official TMEA event in October is the Treble Region Choir audition on Oct. 21 at Marshall High School in San Antonio. The entry deadline is Wednesday, October 4. Again, we will travel together by bus to this event. If you are the parent or guardian of one of our auditionees, please consider going with us to serve as a chaperon. Like the prior audition, I will be judging singers all day.
