ATTENTION 5TH GRADE STUDENTS!
Would you like to have your very own artwork on the front cover of the yearbook this year? Now is your chance to show your creativity to the school. Fifth graders may submit a yearbook cover entry to their classroom teachers by Friday November 15th for consideration in the contest. Teachers will blindly vote on the winner which will be revealed at the end of the year. No late submissions will be accepted.
This year’s theme is “Speak kind words and you will hear kind echoes”. To be considered, the entry must be submitted on a blank 8.5x10.5in sheet of paper and include the School Name, and theme. It must be original artwork. Please put your name on the back of the submission.
Be creative 5th grade! Show your best work! The winning entry will be printed on this year’s yearbook cover. Contact Bobbi Moyer at moyer723@yahoo.com with questions.

NURSE'S CORNER
Due to recent concerns about lice in our community, our health suite would like to relay the following information. According to the Center for Disease Control and other health authorities, head lice are not a health hazard or sign of uncleanliness and not responsible for the spread of any disease. Head lice are common among children. Lice can be readily transmitted in schools, homes, camps, backyards, and playgrounds; almost any community setting. Nits (lice eggs) that are not viable (1/2 inch or more from the scalp) do not cause the spread of head lice.
If your child or a family member have nits/lice, please remember to contact your school nurse so she can help guide you through the care process for you and your family. Also, please remember to reach out to those close to you. Children may have connections with others in many different grades and schools so this is the best way at getting the word out. Remember, lice can be present in any community setting so frequent head checks by parents can be helpful throughout the school year.
