November 5th-9th
Ring Leader Tidbits
~ Sorry for the delay with the newsletter this week! Being out on Monday and having vertical team meetings yesterday got me a little behind! Thanks so much for your patience! :)
~ This year, instead of the Thanksgiving feast, we will be doing a holiday feast in December. There were not enough dates available in November for it work out with our campus schedule, so we are doing a holiday feast instead. I know some parents have been inquiring about it, so I wanted to make sure I let you all know of the change. The holiday feast will take place on Friday, December 7th during lunch times. We will send out a flyer and get RSVP's, just like we have in the past. Please help to relay this information to your parents as well!
~ Teachers, (2-5), make sure to have your classroom spelling bee between now and November 9th. Kelly Clower will need the names of each participant who will compete in the campus spelling bee on December 19th.
~ Thank you to everyone who participated and had things to share at our vertical council meetings on Tuesday. I appreciate it when we can come together and share things, discuss successes, learn from each other, and also feel open enough to discuss challenges and struggles. I appreciate all of you each and every day, and the difference you all make daily is SO appreciated!
~ We will reschedule our staff meeting for this next Monday, November 12th. Sorry for the change in schedule, and I appreciate everyone's flexibility! We will discuss instructional strategies and start with the strategy of reciprocal teaching. We will grow as a staff and increase our knowledge of pedagogy, while tying in technology to our teaching.

~ Don't forget to relay to parents that we are in need of heavy coats for students this winter! Speaking of winter, make sure to send out the LiiNK weather guidelines to ALL grade levels. As the weather gets colder, parents need reminders that we do go outside, and students need reminders to bring the appropriate winter weather clothes.
~ Make sure you have sent Lilly your EOM form! I resent the email that shows how to edit the forms but downloading a free software that Laura Ingram found.
~ Holiday pictures are this Friday! We will call down for students when we are ready to begin! These pictures are only for the students how have pre-paid. These usually don't take long, as not all the students get photographed.
~ Next week, we will have an obstructed fire drill. Make sure you go over with your students where you would go if the normal exit route is blocked.
~ We will begin talking about new character traits for November. Please see below the character traits that will be discussed when focusing on the characteristic of responsibility.
~ Dr. Parker will be here this Friday at 1:00 to walk classrooms. Jeans are still fine to wear, since it's a Friday. Wear Elkins shirts to show school spirit.
