Get Involved @ Your Library!
Does your student love to read and spend time with other readers? There are several ways Falcons can get involved at the library!
SLAB (School Library Advisory Board)*—Students in SLAB help with all sorts of library projects, such as decorating book fairs, keeping the library clean and organized, and shelving books. SLAB members are chosen by application process. Applications are online and available now on the library website.
Library Lunch Bunch*—Three times a semester, students will meet in the library during lunch for a fun book-related activity. Each event will have a separate sign-up sheet which will be available in the library one week before each event. Students are welcome to attend any or all of the meetings.
Rubik’s Cube Club*—A gathering for people who either love Rubik’s, or want to learn. Any skill level is welcome. Sign up sheet will be available in the library.
If your student is interested in being a part of the library fun, please have him/her attend the Club Fair in the cafeteria on August 24th to get more information.

Welcome New Faculty
Steven Alexander
This is me at Cadillac Ranch on my way home from family trip to Palo Duro Canyon (note the FMS & falcon I painted on a tire hub). Earlier this summer I got to camp, hike, and canoe in the hills of Arkansas with my boys and a wonderful group of youth. My son and I even squirmed inside a cave carved by a waterfall! I love to explore nature--and just about everything else--and get a kick learning about people, history, archeology, geology, the oceans, space, insects, etc. And we get to do all that in SCIENCE!
I also love books, superheroes, drawing, writing, making stuff, and collecting interesting objects and graphics. Everything has a story to tell and will inspire a sense of wonder and appreciation if you look. So...I studied creative writing at LSU, earned an MFA in Comics & Sequential Art from SCAD, worked as an animator and designer at Science For Kids and other companies, taught college for two years in Dallas, and served as a teacher's assistant for three years in FISD before joining the science team at Fowler. I am fascinated by all students can do, and can't wait to discover your gifts, see your smiles, laugh often, and all exclaim "Wow," as we look behind the curtain of this insanely rich world together. I promise you will feel safe, valued, and engaged. All I ask is that you bring an explorer's mindset, respect your peers, and share your talents. Welcome back! Let's Rock This!

Matthew Tremmel
Hey Fowler Falcons! I'm Matthew Tremmel and I'm so excited to be teaching in FISD. I actually went to Fowler back in the day and graduated from Liberty HS. I went to the University of Kentucky for my Bachelor's degree in Music Education and came right back to teach here. I'll be working with the bands at Fowler MS, Clark MS, and Lebanon Trail HS as the assistant percussion director. I've played all kinds of music: orchestral, concert band, jazz, marching band, steel pan, African drumming, Brazillian samba, Balinese gamelan, you name it! Aside from teaching, I compose music for percussion ensembles and I write and run modules for tabletop RPGs. I can't wait to help make some music at Fowler!
