6th Grade Science
In 6th grade science, we are wrapping up the last unit of matter and energy. Next, we will begin force, motion, and energy as our next unit. During the next three weeks, we will cover potential and kinetic energy, then moving along to changes in force and motion.
7th Grade Science
For the next three weeks, Mrs. Korenek's 7th science will be studying the functions of the human body systems. Each student will be completing an individual project over one of the body systems. We will then examine analogous and homologous systems and structures of other organisms. We will examine adaptations of internal organisms with specific functions like gills and bones.
8th Grade Science
In 8th grade, we will testing over moon phases and tides at the end of the week. We will be starting our next unit covering space exploration past, present, and future. During this unit the students will have a project that will require them to plan a expedition to Mars. Included in the plan, they will have to conquer some of the same challenges that NASA is facing today for a manned mission to Mars.
6th Grade Social Studies
7th Grade Social Studies
In 7th grade, we will have a test over Chapter 9 on Friday, February 3, 2017. We will start chapter 10, The Texas Revolution Begins. The next chapter will be over the Alamo and Goliad.
8th Grade Social Studies
In 8th grade, we will be covering Manifest Destiny. The students will have a test over Manifest Destiny on Friday, February 10, 2017. Then starting the week of February 13, we start the unit over Industrialization.
