Giving Back - 7th Annual Food Drive!

Over the last few weeks a High School student has been coming to Hastings to visit our students and teach them about service. She explained that when you feel grateful you are inspired to help others and engage in service. This High School student is organizing a Food Drive throughout Westborough. Here's what you need to know:

When: NOW! December 2nd - December 13th

Where: Drop-Off in the Hastings Foyer. Food donated to the Westborough Food Pantry

What: Non-perishable food and personal care items (Items most in need currently: Ramen, Tomato products, Canned pasta, Pasta Sauce, Tuna, Peanut Butter)

Important Reminders

Winter Weather Recess Update

The snow has officially arrived! Taking our students outside for recess is a very important and favorite part of their day. At Hastings, students have two recesses a day for social development and play. During snow clothes season they will continue to go outside for both recesses, and also have the option of playing in the snow for one of their recesses. For students to play in the snow, they must be wearing snow pants, boots, a jacket, a hat, and gloves! A friendly reminder that if the real feel temperature (with the windchill) is 20 degrees or above we do take the students outside to play. Please help us in making sure they bring warm clothes to school that are labeled for outdoor time. Let the winter recess fun begin!

Term 1 Report Cards

Report Cards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders will be available for families to view through the PowerSchool parent portal on the afternoon of Thursday, December 12th. The district will send out an email to families when they are ready for viewing. The following are a few points to consider while reviewing the report card:

● Celebrate your student’s progress!

● Focus on how each of your students are doing as individuals.

● Set high expectations for your student(s), encourage them to do their best, provide support along the way, and praise them for their efforts!

● Continue to celebrate the progress your student(s) make every day!

Kindergarten will have their first online Report Cards released on 2/13. Kindergarten’s second Report Card will be released on the last day of school.

Please contact the Hastings office or your child's teachers if you have questions or trouble viewing your child's report card.

Lost and Found Check

The lost and found is overflowing! It is located in the Cafeteria. Please remind your child to check this area for lost belongings before the December break (December 20th). You are more than welcome to stop by and check for missing items as well. We will be donating clothes that are still in the lost found after December 20th. Thank you!
