Contact forces Stations in Science
Looking back just prior to spring break, Students in 7th Grade Science did labs on contact force stations. They used a toy car to determine the friction that different surfaces caused. At another station, students used water, pepper, and soap to learn about surface tension. Also, they experimented with the buoyancy and air resistance of different substances.
Roman Engineering Project in Social Studies
Prior to spring break, students in 6th Grade Social Studies worked on a creative project to recreate Roman engineering by making aqueducts and marble road mazes. The creativity shown during this project was fantastic!
Music Program at Pfeiffer Chapel
Middle School Variety Show
Hosted by Mrs. Morgan & the MS Drama Club, the Middle School Variety Show was held Friday afternoon as yet another performance treat for students that day. Everyone in attendance witnessed powerful talent and entertainment during this show. Thanks to everyone involved for all their hard work and effort to make this school-day event a success!
No Catered Lunch on Wednesday or Thursday
Students MUST bring lunch on Wednesday and Thursday of this week as there will be no catered lunch available on those days.
Lunch Celebration on Friday, May 6
With the recent ranking by U.S. News and World Report placing Gray Stone Day School in the top 10 best high schools in North Carolina and #540 in the U.S., we will celebrate on Friday, May 6 with each student and staff member receiving 3 slices of free pizza and Poppin' John's Homemade Ice Cream. Congratulations!! Go, Knights!!

EOG/EOC Test Schedule Info.
Please see the dates below for our quickly approaching EOG testing.
**Important Reminders:
- For middle school students, the scores from these tests do not factor into the final grade in the class with the exception of Math 1 students. For 8th grade Math 1, the EOC will be counted as 20% of the final grade as required by the state since it is a HS credit class with an EOC.
- 8th grade Math 1 students will only take the Math 1 EOC and will be exempt from taking the 8th Grade Math EOG
- The final grade for all middle school classes other than Math 1 will be an average of 1st semester grade and the 2nd semester grade.
Lost & Found
Our lost & found is heaping with items! We have miscellaneous clothing items, water bottles, school supplies, technology accessories, etc.
We want these items to be returned to their rightful owners so if you have lost anything this school year, please take a moment to check our lost & found since we have accumulated so many things.

Spirit Wall
Don't forget to reserve our spirit wall for upcoming special occasions. Renting the wall will allow you to display school spirit, celebrate your child’s birthday, or post staff/student appreciation. Please read the guidelines attached in the below PDF before contacting the front office to reserve.
