OUUC Tech Update

When I arrived at OUUC more than 3 years ago, it was a dream of this congregation to live stream the Sunday services. Covid was the push to get us there and now we have a strong virtual ministry thanks to our tech staff and volunteers. We now live stream all Sunday services, every Thursday Evening Spiritual Practice, and celebrations of life. We have been so fortunate to share our worship, sorrow and joy with people around the world.

His fall we’ve welcomed back some tech volunteers and they are expanding their skills. Thanks to Sharon Love and Fritz Wrede for their willingness. Thanks also to new volunteer, Ryan Baye.

I am delighted to announce that we have hired Carbon Marshall as our next Tech Specialist. Carbon grew up at OUUC--he’s the son of Rev. Sara Lewis. Carbon is a musician experienced with making and editing music files. He is a first-year student at Evergreen College and plans to study video and sound production. We are excited to have Carbon join us and look forward to learning with him. Please welcome Carbon when you see him at the tech table!

We’ve been so grateful to OUUC Tech Team member Teresa Madsen who has been filling the Tech Specialist position in the interim as we looked for someone to fill the position longer-term. Teresa will remain on staff to help transition and train Carbon and volunteers. Gratitude also to Communication Specialist, Andrea Capere, for cross-training and filing in.

We are all learning how to best keep our connections strong. Thanks for the grace and adaptability as we remember it’s about connection, not perfection!

If you have any questions about staff or our virtual ministry, please feel free to contact me.
