Announcements for December 10-15, 2018
WCPSS Schools are closed Monday, December 10th. Please continue to listen to media, School Messenger, if you have signed up for information regarding delays or closings of schools. Make Up Day for Monday, December 10th is this Saturday, December 15th. Dismissal will be at 12:45. If we miss Tuesday, December 11th we are tentatively scheduled to make up the day on Saturday, March 16.
Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather, if WCPSS schools are closed, the building will be closed. Employees should not come to campus or enter the building without the permission of the Principal. Check your email each day for updates. Your safety is our top priority. Delay schedules are found in the PUE Master Folder under schedules, and were sent out last week. Prepare for weather by clearing out personal refrigerators, sealing or removing food stuffs from classrooms, etc... Do not leave personal items at school you may need.
Preparedness Drills: If we had a lockdown last week, would you have been ready? If someone had a heart attack during your last parent conference, would you know what to do? If not, you are not alone. Be prepared! Red bags should be on the back of every classroom door. If you are missing items, please inform the office. All bags were refilled in July 2018. Class lists should be updated by the teacher any time the list changes. A first aid plan is currently being prepared to address medical needs and the use of an defibrillator device. More information will be given at the next leadership meeting (Thursday, December 13th.) If you have questions about safety or other related issues, please see an Administrator.
Leadership Team Meeting: Leadership Team will meet on Thursday, December 13 at 7:45 in the Media Center.
Holiday Performances: Kindergarten and First Grade have Holiday performances in two weeks on Wednesday, December 19th during specials. Due to this change, please be aware any specials changes and of parents being in the building from 9:30-10:30 and from 1:15-2:15.
Holiday Shop: Holiday Shop is being extended to Thursday, December 13th due to the adverse weather and to allow Track 2 additional time to shop. If you haven't signed up your class to visit, please do so ASAP. Please thank the PTA volunteers that have set up and run the shop- it is a lot of work and it is all to support PUE.
United Way Campaign: The United Way Campaign will end this week for WCPSS employees. If you have not, please consider making a pledge today through the email you received with your personal link. Any support is appreciated.
Thank You: Thank you to those that arranged the holiday party at CHOW last Thursday. It was good to see you all away from school and we hope that you enjoyed your time together. If you were not able to make it, we missed you and hope you can participate in the end of year party which is to be scheduled.
