From The Principal's Desk
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce and warmly welcome a new addition to the Titirangi Primary School Board of Trustees this week, in the form of Chris Haines, who lives in Titirangi with his wife and three young boys.
The BOT decided unanimously to co-opt Chris as a full Trustee for the next twelve months. He brings considerable expertise in property matters as a quantity surveyor and director for Rider Levett Bucknall, and has been involved in a number of education projects across the country. This year, with a focus on key infrastructure projects (such as ultra-fast broadband, a new boiler system, electrical upgrade and a renovation of the Junior toilet block) Chris offers an invaluable skill-set that we feel adds great value to the Board.
It is also perfect timing as we begin a process of developing concepts for current classrooms and how they may be upgraded into modern teaching and learning spaces. This will be the start of a long-term project with significant implications for the way in which children learn at our school, and so we are delighted to be able to draw on Chris' experience in this field.
So, I trust you will join me in welcoming Chris to the team, and wishing him all the best in his new role as Trustee at our school.
