Announcements/Important Dates

New meeting location from now on: Anabel Taylor Hall (next to the law school)

Next meeting is on Monday at 5 PM at Justine's apartment- 305 Eddy St, Apt. 8 (focusing on Zinck's)

Class councils retreat: October 17 10 AM-3 PM, location TBD

Zinck's Night Kickoff: October 15 at CTB

Yoga on the Quad (hosted by 2017, part of mental health awareness week): October 21

Class of 2016 bonding event: Sometime in early November

(red) campaign: If by November 1 we do not hear anything from them, we will not be pursuing our fundraising/awareness campaign for their AIDS Free Generation initiative

Blood Drive: November 30, 11-7 PM. Responsible for getting 83 sign-ups pre-confirmed before the event, look out for more information on this.

Idea of sponsoring a locker in Willard Straight for the Big Red Bear, currently endowed by the class of 1970

Elections update

After our discussion about when to hold elections, we came to the conclusion that it would be best for community and voter engagement to hold our elections in the spring as has been done in the past. For freshmen, their elections will begin in November-December

Movies on the Quad

When: This Saturday, October 3 at 7:30 PM

Our commitment is set up, so we will be meeting downstairs in Willard Straight Hall next to the popcorn at 6:15 PM. You can leave after 7 or stay for the movie!

Rain location: Sage Chapel

Cornell Alumni Leadership Conference

When: Saturday November 14, 10-1 PM

What: Workshops, networking, young alumni and speakers will be coming in to speak about their leadership experiences on the hill and post hill

Scheduling is TBD, a group of students that are interested in the execution of this conference is being put together (Bobby, Carson, Emily, Laci, Justine, and Toni all expressed interest), meeting will be held next week

Alumni affairs is contributing $7,500 that is going towards the speakers' fees, Class Councils (all 4 of them) is contributing $2,500 so we as a class will be responsible for a minimum of $600

Fundraising goals, thoughts on making students pay to attend?

  • Reserving locations- Carson is reaching out to WSH about the International room (also reaching out to her mom regarding CALC), Justine is contacting ILR about the Pepsi Co. auditorium, and Emily is contacting MVR. Need a lecture hall and 3 break-out rooms as well as open area is that is available. Come to Monday's meeting with updates on this.
