MCSC Family Update
Bather Families & Learners,
Our Mount Clemens Community Schools Board of Education decided to open the school year with remote learning until October 5 when they will review the plan. This newsletter contains some very important information for families and learners about the start of school next Tuesday, September 8th.
We will be providing a lot more information as we get into the school year. Our plans will be continuously reviewed to make sure we are providing the best possible learning experience for our learners and align with the ever-shifting requirements handed down by state and local authorities.
This pandemic has created an environment where plans must be shifted; sometimes immediately. I want to thank all of you for your patience and understanding of just how difficult this period has been for schools and teachers in creating and communicating solid plans.
Our teachers and staff are ready to get this year going and so am I!

BACK TO SCHOOL INFORMATION
Remote Learning, Chromebooks, & Online Access
We do have a limited number of devices we will distribute to those most in need. If you do have a device that can access our online classrooms in the meantime, please do so. Cellphones are capable of joining virtual meetings and access online class materials. Hardcopy assignment packets will be available for students without access. If the home doesn't have a device to be used or shared with other learners, please click here and let us know. We will do our best to get devices to those in need. We will contact those families directly about device pick up.
What's happening next week?
SEPTEMBER 8, TUESDAY - Teachers will contact students with back to school information. PowerSchool online portal with student schedules, online classes and assignments are accessible.
SEPTEMBER 9, WEDNESDAY - BUS STOP BACK TO SCHOOL TOUR! - Our teachers and staff will meet learners at your bus stop to distribute packets with schedules, registration forms, PowerSchool Portal access directions with usernames and passwords for learners and families, learning supplies, class information, hard copies of week one assignments, and more! Tour schedules will be posted on the website and emailed once finalized.
SEPTEMBER 9, WEDNESDAY - MCSC Family Connect Zoom Meeting at 6 PM (information below).
SEPTEMBER 10, THURSDAY - If your learner was unable to meet us on Wednesday, packets can be picked up, drive-thru style, from 2 PM to 5 PM.
SEPTEMBER 11, FRIDAY - 9/11/01 REMEMBRANCE -
2020 - 2021 Grading & Attendance
Learners will be expected to connect regularly according to our Remote Learning Class schedule, which can be found on the front page of both schools’ websites, and complete all course work for grades and credits.
Learners without devices can connect via cellphones. Teacher contact information is on our website and included in the Back to School Packets.
Here is an important change to know: we decided to push back the start of school to 8:30 AM during any Remote Learning periods. We will return to our regular start time of 7:20 when our learners come back to school.
