Pep Rally

Our first pep rally of the year will be on Friday. All classes will go the cafeteria at 8:15. We will introduce our teams this year to the school. The team introductions will include our basketball team, soccer team, pom squad, step team and Spanish Society. Please remember to talk with your students about proper pep rally/assembly etiquette. This would include no booing, cougar paws to quiet down and respectful attention when someone is on stage. We would also like to try dismissing in an orderly fashion due to excessive pushing and yelling with past behavior.

Getting to know our Wonderful Staff

Introducing our segment of Staff Member Bios!!!! We will now feature staff members in our newsletter. We all know time is precious and we don't get to take the time to get to know our fellow peers!

Mrs. Gina McCurdy-Counselor

My name is Gina McCurdy and I am thrilled to be a Stults Road Cougar!

I come to RISD from Garland ISD and I have been a classroom teacher for 15 years.

I am married to John (32 years), and we have one married daughter and one son who has returned to live at home after graduating from Texas A and M.

My favorite pastime is spending time with family and friends and SHOPPING! (I love a good bargain)

I also love to eat barbeque and try different restaurants in and around Dallas. (I am taking recommendations)

My addictions are Facebook and Pinterest, so feel free to “friend” me.

My desire is to help build a great community here at Stults and I look forward to working with all of you!

Ms. Dawnyel Newhouse-Executive Assistant

My name is Dawnyel Newhouse and I am a TWIN. Yes, my twin works with me and I am delighted to work with her every single day. I have been at Stults for 12 or 13 years. I am the Executive Assistant and any other title you would like to give me. I have 2 other siblings Reggie and Rodd. My mother used to work here at Stults as a Math tutor for many years, but now she is retired and enjoys it. My father passed away 2 years ago and as many of you know he played for the Dallas Cowboys many years ago. We have a foundation for my dad and it is 44Strong Foundation. I was born and raised in the Lake Highlands area and played sports (soccer, basketball, track, volleyball). And still to this day I enjoy them. My first love is soccer but had a scholarship to run track at Abilene Christian University. I enjoy working with kids but I do not have any of my own. I have 3 nieces and 1 nephew and love them to pieces. My favorite food is Mexican! I enjoy working out, watching sports, writing, hanging with friends, and being with family. I enjoy what I do and do what I love!
