PAWS Pride Mural
Through a generous grant provided by State Farm, we were able to paint a beautiful mural on the back wall of our campus field. Myford students participated and assisted the non-profit "Operation Clean Slate" professionals in the painting of the mural.
What is PBIS?
PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support. PBIS is a proactive approach to establishing and addressing behavior supports in our school. We emphasize positive recognition and reinforcement. Teaching behavioral expectations and rewarding students for following them helps to establish a school climate where appropriate behavior is the norm. Your awesoME team members are Rena Fairchild, Christine Valles, Joanne Graham, Steve Bruce, Kristan Bruce, and Anna Zavala. Our parent representative is Cathy Quach.

Our School Motto
It all comes down to this.
Students are recognized every Friday for demonstrating acts of bravery, kindness, or just plain awesomeness!

PBIS Implementation
At the beginning of the year, students participated in a "Welcome Back" assembly where our matrix was introduced and the importance of kindness was discussed. Mrs. Fairchild read a story called "We're All Wonders" and all teachers received a classroom copy of the book.
Myford's character education expectations are based on the Pyramid of Success created by John Wooden and depicted in the book "Inch and Miles." All teachers have a classroom copy of this book as well.
Last month students participated in a PBIS refresher assembly to learn about the importance of teamwork. We watched the Pixar short "Lou" and teachers discussed the theme of empathy with their class.
Myford Student Store
Students earn PAWS Pride Tickets and can shop once a month for a variety of items. Student Store is run by Student Council members.
