You have beliefs about the meaning of life and your life's purpose. You seek to be part of something greater than yourself.
Connection/purpose gives individuals the sense that they are put on this earth for a reason and that they are somehow connected with humanity or the universe. People who possess a sense of purpose believe that they were put on earth for a reason. These people have a true calling. This gives individuals strength and allows them to persevere and find courage in trying circumstances. People with this strength might be described as determined, trusting, resolute, purposeful or devoted.
SILENT AUCTION LIVE on Monday, May 6th!
Penny Road's biggest silent auction ever will go live on Monday, May 6th at 8:00 a.m. We encourage all of our families to share the auction link with friends, neighbors, and family. There is something for everyone in all price ranges. With nearly 200 items to bid on, we need your help getting the word out. Check out the auction here: https://www.32auctions.com/pennyroad2019
New this year: We have a BUY NOW BONUS!! Buy Now items allow you to bypass the bidding process and help us move items prior to the live event on Friday, May 17th. (Our gym is only so big, folks!) For every item you purchase using the BUY NOW option, your name will be entered into a drawing to win $100 in CASH! See the PDF below for all the details.
Carnival Pre-Order Deadline EXTENDED to Tuesday, May 7th
We need Spring Carnival volunteers!
The Spring Carnival is just two weeks away and we are still in need of adult volunteers. Our committee has been working hard since October on this event, and we would appreciate any support you are able to give! We are especially in need of people to assist with food sales and the grilling of hot dogs (this is a great job for dads who are willing to help). Please click HERE to access the sign up.
Cultural Arts Update
As the Cultural Arts Representative for Penny Road Elementary, I have enjoyed bringing live performances into our school. It’s been great to watch the artists not only entertain our students, but also make some pretty special connections with some. Yesterday, Antonio was able to have an extensive conversation with a first grader in Portuguese! Many thanks to the Penny Road PTA, and the United Arts Council of Raleigh for providing the funds that make these programs possible.
The Penny Road Yearbook is now available for purchase online through May 31st!
The price for this precious keepsake of our 2018-19 school year is only $18!
- Payment Options: Paper check / money order / cash (made out to Strawbridge Studios).
If you already placed your order, yearbooks will start going home on May 9th!
Questions? Contact Mandy Patterson at email@example.com.
Reminder about Class Celebrations
As we near the end of the school year, there will be many things to celebrate in our classrooms! As a reminder, all food items brought in for celebrations must be store bought. This is a Wake County Public Schools policy and our teachers would greatly appreciate your cooperation with this.
SAVE THE DATE- Final General PTA Meeting
Please join us on Tuesday, May 21st for our final General PTA meeting of the year. The meeting will begin at 9:15 am in the gym.
