Good Afternoon Mariners!

I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with your families! I am glad that we will be returning to our Hybrid Schedule next week beginning Monday, December 7th. Please be sure to continue to practice social distancing and wear masks around others so that we all can remain healthy and continue along the path towards a full return to school!

Congratulations to our December Staff Member of the Month, Mrs. Abigail Kulzy! Mrs. Kulzy has taught at High School North for the last 9 years of her 13 year career. She has taught all levels of Spanish and has been involved with our Spanish Club. Outside of school, Mrs. Kulzy enjoys working with animals and gardening. She is involved with her church and loves spending time with her family.


During this week of full virtual instruction, we have moved to our "Normal" school schedule, (7:15am - 1:50pm) It is the same schedule we followed prior to last March 13th. This will allow for seven 43 periods of instruction. Teachers will be varying their approaches to include a series of large and small group activities throughout each period to include instruction as well as reinforcement. The purpose of many of these activities will be to limit screen time for students throughout the period.

The schedule will be as follows:

HYBRID SCHEDULE - Beginning Monday, December 7th

As approved by our Board of education last night, we will be returning to our Hybrid Schedule on Monday, December 7th. This is the same schedule we followed prior to this week. Group A students will attend Monday and Wednesday. Group B students will attend Tuesday and Thursday. Fridays will be Virtual for all students.

College Application Deadlines

As the holidays approach please remember we will be off from school during some college application deadlines. Materials that need to be submitted to a college should be given to Guidance 2 weeks before the deadline. Please follow the dates below for some possible deadlines:

December 1 Deadline: All materials in ASAP, but no later than 11/19 December 15 Deadline: All materials in by December 1 January 1 Deadline: All materials in by December 14 January 15 Deadline: All materials in By January 4 If you want your applications complete, these dates must be followed. Also remember, it takes about 2 weeks for your SAT/ACT scores to be sent from the testing organization to a college. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE

Virtual College Visits

The Guidance Office still has College Reps visiting, just virtually this year. Please see the attached form for the schedule of visits. If you plan to attend, please click on the RSVP link. Then when the date/time approaches for the virtual visit, click on the google meet link. Check back often to see updated dates. Any questions, please see your counselor.


There are new scholarships posted to the HS North Guidance Scholarship page: Check the site often as new scholarships will be added as they are sent to us. The more you apply to, the more money you can earn. PAY ATTENTION TO DEADLINES. Contact your counselor with any questions.
