The Bobcat Paw
Week of December 5, 2022
Mission: To educate every student by creating an environment of high expectations, innovation, and strong partnerships.
A Message From Dra. Cárdenas, Principal
This past week was a big week for both, staff and students.
You know the saying, "It takes a village". Never had I understood the meaning of this phrase better than I do now. I knew it would be a busy week as I transitioned into the Principal role while I finished off areas from my previous role. However, the amount of synergy from every staff member to get things done for our students was unbelievably amazing and heartwarming! There was filling in for others, patience, positive outlook, understanding, festive joy, professional development, teamwork, and flexibility to name a few. Thank you RHE Family for being the definition of synergy! YOU make anything possible!
For our students, aside from festive days, there was also MOY mCLASS testing from K-4th, our 3rd and 4th Graders continued to prepare for benchmarks these next two weeks, PK-2nd began practicing for their upcoming drama performances, 2nd-4th grade bilingual students set goals for their TELPAS practice test, the Folklórico Group had their first practice, Choir prepared for their performance, Chess practiced for an upcoming competitions AND we had Spelling Bee and UIL competitions! Throughout these settings we saw our students work through their nerves, develop their sportsmanship skills, learn from their mistakes, set goals, and persevere. We are SO proud of them! Thank you parents and staff for your work and support for our students!
Parents, we thank you for your support in bringing your child to school every day. Thank you for your staying in communication with us as we work together to provide our students with high-quality instruction that targets their needs.
Please be advised that any 3rd - 4th graders that are absent on Fall Benchmark testing days, will have to make up the test on another day. This could potentially cause the students missing out on other class events throughout the week, including holiday parties and other celebrations. We look forward to having all of our Bobcats present.
Don't forget to scroll down for many smiling faces, celebrations, and a look into our classrooms.
Choose to have an AMAZING week everybody!

Recent RHE Admin Team Member
At the end of October, we were happy to welcome Mrs. Amanda Diosdado to our RHE Family. Mrs. Diosdado is part of our admin team and will now be serving as the Instructional Facilitator. After serving our country as a Marine, Mrs. Diosdado taught for 7 years and then served as an Assistant Principal for two years. We are grateful that her journey has brought her to RHE, as we know she will be an integral part to serving our students academic and social-emotional needs. When you see her, if you haven't done so already, we invite you to give her a warm Rio Hondo Bobcat welcome!
