Spring 2016 Online

Thank you for the opportunity to work with you over the next few weeks as we explore the exciting and often misinterpreted world of macroeconomics. My 30-plus-year career has been split evenly between banking, management and higher education. In all of these, I have found economics to be a critical link that helps us to understand the world around us. Whether a business professional or a college professor, none of us are immune from the effects of economics.

I am sure this course will stretch you and expand your vocabulary as you consider models of thinking that are somewhat foreign. Don't worry; you are in good company. These models of thinking are foreign to most of our political leaders as well.

As we begin our time together, please begin your study by completing the Jessup Online Student Orientation. Next, download and carefully review the course syllabus. Finally, open up the Introductions Forum and respond to the initial prompts to help each of us get to know each other. Although our time together is brief, you can expect it to be an intense period of active collaboration. After you have completed your introduction and made sure you have updated your profile including adding a personal picture, you're ready to begin the class with Week 1.

I appreciate in advance the opportunity we will have to work together and get to know each other at a different level. If I can help you in any way or you have questions, please let me know.

With Warm Anticipation,

Sam Heinrich
